New Life

There is new life in our family (arrived and arriving soon!)

It always makes me reflective to hold a new baby.

So much discovery, learning, and wonder before her.

A whole, wide world of possibility and opportunity.

And it feels a little wistful.

As if that time is behind me.

But the beauty of life in Christ is that He offers newness all the time.

Daily as we repent and seek a new start.

Weekly, through the sacrament, where we receive the power to grow and become.

Every time we receive a renewal of hope we are receiving a type of new life.

A way of seeing things with fresh eyes, charged with renewed energy to move forward.

He offers new opportunities throughout our lives, encouraging improvement, increase and expansion.

He said, “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and…is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24)

That is new life in faith, in the feasting on His word, and in the promise of life that continues in the resurrection.

A birth from darkness into light; from impotence into change; from futility into purpose and potential.

Endless possibility both here and in eternity.

No wonder one of His titles is life of the world.

The giver of life all through our mortal existence and the bringer of everlasting life.

The hope and promise of forever.
