Given the significance of the birth of the King of Heaven and Savior of the World, there are relatively few words to describe His humble beginning.
A few verses to celebrate the start of the life and mission of Jesus Christ.
Even the angels, who came themselves from the realms of glory, spoke little, announcing the birth of ‘a Savior, which is Christ the Lord,’ to shepherds as ‘great tidings of good joy’ and then giving ‘Glory to God.’
But maybe it’s not surprising.
Often words feel insufficient to convey the deepest gratitude and praise of our hearts.
And Jesus never felt the need to make a grand entrance.
His character and work speak for themselves more eloquently than any words we may use.
And though it began quietly, His birth was the beginning that changed the world.
Today, even the increased use of His name at Christmastime brings greater light, goodwill and joy to the Earth.
So, while the season of Christmas may be short, His reach is eternal and His influence never ending.
Just a few words spoken in wonder and awe at all He was willing to do for us are enough, especially when accompanied by the reverent feelings and sincere seeking of real worship.
Glory to God the Father and God the Son.
Hallelujah.
